Wiconi Lecala has no payroll, no building, and no development department. Connie drives the state herself. What you give goes almost directly to a person who walked out of a South Dakota facility this month with a bus ticket and nothing else.

Where it goes

Almost all of it reaches a person.

We are a volunteer organization. The only costs we carry are fuel, supplies, and the things people need on the day they come home.

Before you give

Yes. Wiconi Lecala is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. You will receive an emailed receipt immediately, and a summary letter in January for your records.

Nearly all of it. There is no payroll, no office lease and no development department. The costs we carry are fuel, supplies, and the things a person needs the day they walk out.

Connie Hopkins, our founder and director, alongside our board. Requests come directly from people inside the facilities, from families, and from people who have already come home.

Yes. Add the name in the notes field when you give, or email us and we will make sure it is recorded and acknowledged.

We work with people at facilities in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Springfield and Pierre. Most of the people we walk alongside come home to the Black Hills, but we help where we can reach.
